The Rule of Thirds is an imaginary grid on your camera screen that allows you to off-center your image. It is not always imaginary though. Some cameras, in fact most cameras, allow you to view the grid on the screen to make it easier to pick a corner or intersection on the screen for this feature. You can use the Rule of Thirds to show your focus or image entering, going through, or leaving the photo. This usually gives the photo more sense of uniqueness and feeling.
